In speaking to ladies about Avon everywhere I go, I have crossed paths with many that have left Avon. I have compiled a list of the top reasons for quitting and how to make sure you don't fall into any of these excuses.
1. You are your best customer. Though it is really nice and convenient to purchase at a discount and have direct shipping, be careful. I tell all of my team that before you make your own purchases, ask yourself this: "If I were buying from someone else or at the mall, would I spend that much?" Don't fall into the trap of owing more money than you collected.
2. No new customers. In order to build your business, you must continually find new customers. Every customer does not buy from every brochure. Even if you sell to just friends and family, you can do incentives for referrals. Referrals are a big part of any business.

Super Size Me
Selling products is the base for being a successful Avon representative. I love the products and the prices and of course I am also a customer. That is what makes it easy for me to sell. I believe in Avon. And I set goals for myself to maximize my profits. But the other thing I love is that Avon allows me to satisfy another need. I enjoy coaching and mentoring others to be successful. Avon's leadership program gives everyone this opportunity. All I have to do is show people what I do. Avon gives us all the tools and we just have to duplicate and mirror that training on to others that want to join. But "how do I do that?", you may ask. Well, it all starts with the contact list you make when you have your first appointment. Those fifty or more people on your list are your potential customers but there may also be some potential recruits in there too.

First Orders
Armed with passion and excitement, I have begun my new career with Avon. Distributing my books and email ebrochures, netted me several orders. I never go out without a brochure, some samples, recruiting flyers, pen and paper. You never know when the opportunity to talk Avon will come up. To grow my business, I realize that I must step out of the family/friend zone. To do this I have ordered extra brochures. They are truly the only cost I have to run my business. They are my store. I ordered enough to distribute to a townhouse complex and I was thrilled to have one customer register and place an order. On my books I have stickers that give clear instructions on how to do this. I find that the days of chit chatting are gone and if you can offer potential customers a way to place orders on their time, they will jump at the opportunity.

Joining Avon
Once I made my decision to join Avon, I was on the search for a Leader. I knew I wanted someone that I could connect with and that would be a great mentor. After searching ads, facebook and twitter, I found someone. I sent her an email and after one phone call, I knew that Colleen was the person I wanted to join with. Five minutes on the internet and I was registered. How easy was that. The next day, I rushed home from work to find brochures in my mailbox. I was officially in business. After labelling my books and armed with my ipad, I handed out brochures and emailed ebooks to friends and family. Avon is an easy sell. Great products, great prices. Orders came in. Every time I connect with someone new, it is the same expression, "oooh Avon!, can I have a book?" It never gets old and puts a smile on my face. It reinforces that I made the right decision.
